Piękny, historyczny hotel położony w Milton Keynes, który został użyty jako miejsce do zamieszkania dla uchodźców, jest na sprzedaż za kwotę sześciu milionów funtów.

Posiadłość w Woughton była ostatnio odwiedzona przez radykalną prawicową grupę Britain First, której członkowie mieli okazję rozmawiać z uchodźcami. Zabroniono im filmowania. Sami uchodźcy byli widziani w miejscowości, wychodząc poza obręb miejsca, w którym przebywają, powodując przy tym niepewność u lokalnych mieszkańców.

Hotel został wybrany przez Ministerstwo Spraw Wewnętrznych pod koniec 2022 roku, by zaoferować miejsce do zamieszkania 107 migrantom. Jak było to w bardzo wielu miejscach w Wielkiej Brytanii, również i przy tej okazji nie zorganizowano spotkania, na którym poinformowani zostali o tym fakcie lokalni mieszkańcy.

Video opublikowane przez dość radykalną organizację prawicową w mediach społecznościowych spowodowało konsternację wśród wielu obserwatorów lokalnej społeczności i samych okolicznych mieszkańców.

Historic hotel, based in Milton Keynes, which was used to house asylum seekers is up for sale for £6m. 

The Grade II listed mini mansion at Woughton was investigated lately by the far-right Britain First group, whose members visited the site and tried to talk to the asylum seekers. They were told to stop filming by the security guards. The asylum seekers were seen to be freely walking out of the hotel’s into the village, causing concern in the local community.

The hotel was selected by the Home Office in late 2021 to house 107 migrants. As it was the case in many locations nationwide, local residents were firstly very concerned with lack of consultation and potential tensions in the area. It is not acceptable that councils, local politicans, authorities hide things like that from the public and they don't seem to understand how important it is for local residents to be aware of it. 

Even though many people living locally  have assumed that asylum seekers are not using the luxurious place anymore, the video, published on social media platform, has proved it isn't the case at all.
