Fields in Trust, green space charity is running this competition, with 364 parks and green spaces trying to go for the top spot. The parks can win on a local and nationwide level and by doing so become people's favourite.
Closing date for voting is 18th August 2022. Willen Lake and Howe Park Wood are certainly among the most favourite open spaces in MK and it's right that they were nominated. Both parks are different from each other and it's really good to see that this kind of variety is reflected in the nominations. Around 2,8 million people across Great Britain live close to the green spaces. Situation in MK is even better. City is basically designed around a park system, which gives all the residents close distance to green spaces.
Britain's parks need support and without urgent action they may not survive in the current form. It's worth to point out that green spaces are highly important in order to maintain our good wellbeing.
