Whitehouse Park bez sklepu od lat. Mieszkańcy tracą cierpliwość.

Jedno z osiedli mieszkaniowych z tysiącami nowych mieszkań, trzema nowymi szkołami i centrum zdrowotnym wciąż czeka na choć jeden sklep, w którym okoliczni mieszkańcy będą mogli się zaopatrzyć w podstawowe produkty, jak choćby mleko, czy chleb.

Whitehouse Park osiągnął już prawie projektowane 6,500 mieszkań. Niektóre rodziny mieszkają tam od sześciu lat, bez nawet jednego sklepu, czy lokalnego centrum kulturalnego. Urząd Miasta Milton Keynes wiele obiecywał, ale skończyło się na słowach.

Gdy wiele rodzin wprowadzało się do tego rejonu MK miało obiecane kilka sklepów, pub, supermarket, rozbudowaną na szeroką skalę infrastrukturą. Sytuacja znacznie odbiega od obietnic i nie wygląda na to, że cokolwiek miałoby się w najbliższej przyszłości zmienić. Szczególnie dostępność do najpotrzebniejszych produktów powinna być zapewniona (tj. chleb, mleko). Na pewno nie ulega to wątpliwości, gdy weźmiemy pod uwagę jak spore jest to osiedle. Urząd Miasta MK sugeruje, że robi co możliwe, by zmienić tę sytuację na korzyść mieszkańców.

Status quo tej niekończącej się historii trwa...

One of the Milton Keynes' estates with thousands of new homes, three new schools and a health centre, is surprisingly still waiting for a single shop for residents to be able to buy common goods, used on daily basis, such as bread and milk.

Whitehouse Park, part of the Western Expansion area for MK has nearly reached its target of 6,500 homes. Some families have been living there for six years, all this time with no local shop or community centre. Milton Keynes City Council have made promises, but they havr all just finished on saying a lot of words.

When families have originally moved in, they were promised few shops, a pub, supermarket, as well as retail units. Nothing has been done and it doesn't look likely to change anytime soon.

Access to basic essentials (including bread, milk) should really be a bare minimum for any residential area, especially this big. One year passed already since MK City Council once again said, that they were encouraging developers to implement all the proposals, which local residents brought forward for years.

This is certainly one of the never-ending stories...
