Tysiące darmowych maseczek dystrybuowanych przez pracowników MK council

Tysiące darmowych maseczek zostało rozprowadzonych w Milton Keynes w czasie, gdy notujemy najwięcej zachorowań od maja.
Przez ostatnie dwa tygodnie 78 ludzi miało pozytywny test na obecność koronawirusa. Mimo, że liczby zakażeń są największe od czterech miesięcy, to dalej są mniejsze w porównaniu z innymi miejscami.

"Liczba zakażeń jest obecnie na poziomie 16.3 na 100,000 mieszkańców w Milton Keynes. W Luton jest to 43.2, w Bedford 28.3, a 17.7 w Central Bedfordshire", powiedział Cllr Peter Marland, lider councilu w Milton Keynes.
Kontynuował: "Spodziewamy się sporego wzrostu w kolejnych tygodniach. Jednak jeśli zbyt duża liczba ludzi nie będzie przestrzegać obostrzeń, to liczby będą rosnąć lawinowo."
Cllr Marland powiedział, że pracownicy councilu chodzili po ulicach MK, rozprowadzając darmowo maseczki.
"Chodzili od drzwi do drzwi, rozmawiając z mieszkańcami, doradzając, a także próbując się dowiedzieć jak zmienili swoje postępowanie od zakończenia lockdownu.
Większość ludzi więcej się pilnuje, gdy wychodzą, jest także odpowiedzialna, rozumie i szanuje reguły, jakich się od nich wymaga."
Spory problem tkwi w szkołach i przedszkolach. Niemalże każdego dnia przypadek nowego zakażenia zgłaszany jest przez szkołę lub przedszkole.
Peter Marland zakończył: "Łatwo przychodzi skoncentrowanie się na wiadomościach o negatywnych sprawach. Dobra strona to, że mieszkańcy Milton Keynes są mili, myślą poważnie o innych członkach społeczności. Robią wszystko co w ich mocy, by móc pomóc sobie i innym. Bardzo istotne byśmy wszyscy przestrzegali obostrzeń, by pozostać bezpiecznymi i w dobrym zdrowiu."

Thousands of free face masks distributed as Milton Keynes experiences highest number of Covid cases since May.
Over the past two weeks 78 people have tested positive for coronavirus in MK. Even though the infection rate is the highest in the area in four months, it's still lower if compared to the other places.
"The number of cases is currently 16.3 per 100,000 people in Milton Keynes. That compares to 43.2 in Luton, 28.3 in Bedford and 17.7 in Central Bedfordshire", said Cllr Peter Marland, MK's council leader.
He continued: "We do expect our numbers to keep rising in the next few weeks. However if too many people don't follow the rules those numbers will increase even more rapidly."
Mr Marland said council staff had been out and about the streets of MK to distribute thousands of free face masks.
"They went door knocking to give advice and ask residents how they've changed their behaviour since the end of lockdown.
"We found that most people are taking more care when they go out. Most of people do understand the rules and what's being asked of them."
But schools are still posing a problem, with nearly one school or nursery each day reporting cases since the new term began two weeks ago.
Pete Marland added: "It is easy to concentrate on the headlines about all the bad things, the good news is that most people in Milton Keynes are kind, considerate and community spirited.
They are doing their best to help themselves and others. It is really important though that we all follow the measures to keep safe."
