A clever pothole plan involving robots and bin lorries is being considered in Milton Keynes. 

Using autonomous robots with embedded artificial intelligence, designed to tackle potholes is taken into consideration. ARRES PREVENT (Autonomous Road Repair System) machines can identify potholes and cracks and in the next step automatically fill them up.

The system is being tested on roads in Herfordshire, but councilors in MK are open for implementing this solution in the city. At the moment they are looking into using these earth detector technology, fitted into bin lorries. York and Thurrock councils are piloting this  pothole-spotting cameras programme and MK council is thinking about potentially implementing this project in the future as well.

This enables to detect issues before they become serious problem. Implementing newest and very efficient technological solutions enables authorities to successfully sort out the problems with innovative approach. New technology should always be used with the intention of solving problems, and hopefully it will stay like that.
